□ Ask Yourself Why: Do you want to be a supervisor? What kind of supervisor do you want to be? What values do you bring?
Take time to self-reflect and always come back to your why.

Talk to Your Staff: Be honest with your staff (always) and talk with them about what are you doing well as a supervisor and what
you need to improve. Keep having these conversations.

Reach Out to Your Supervisor: Talk to your supervisor (if you have one) about your goals, concerns and needs. Ask for what you need.
Advocate for yourself. Do not suffer in silence.

Find a Mentor: Mentors provide a level of support that is unique and powerful. You may benefit from having more than one mentor.
Seek out someone you admire, respect and who represents the type of supervisor you strive to be.

Create an Action Plan: Becoming a great supervisor requires intention, investment and commitment. Come up with a plan for
how you will get there. We are here to help!
